What is the PADI IDC?
The Instructor Development Course is PADI’s gateway to becoming a certified dive instructor. A structured 10 to 14 day programme combining theory, confined water training, and open water teaching practicum.
You learn how to teach, not just how to dive. By the end, you sit the PADI Instructor Examination (IE) and walk away as a certified Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI).

Become an instructor who can teach anywhere in the world.
Knowledge Development
PADI standards, dive physics, physiology, equipment, and the RDP — delivered in person through presentations and group discussions. Sessions focus on the questions candidates commonly get wrong in Knowledge Reviews and exams. Theory and standards covered in depth so you actually understand the material, not just memorise answers.
Confined Water
Demonstration-quality skills. You learn to model every PADI Open Water skill at instructor level so students can copy you.
Open Water Practicum
Limited Teaching Tasks (LTTs) at real dive sites — Kimud Shoal and Lighthouse Reef — where you teach mock students under Toni’s eye.
