Why add specialties?
As a PADI OWSI, you can teach core recreational courses. Specialty Instructor ratings let you teach focused specialty courses, opening more income streams and the path to Master Instructor (Master Instructor).
You need at least 5 specialty instructor ratings plus 25 certifications issued to apply for Master Instructor. Most instructors stack 5+ specialties early to reach Master Instructor within their first year.

Master Instructor is PADI’s recognition of an experienced specialty teacher. Requirements:
1. OWSI status (you have this after IDC)
2. Minimum 5 PADI Specialty Instructor ratings
3. 25 certifications issued
