Essential
PHP 89,500
Core IDC only. Skip prep if you’re already exam-ready. 10 to 14 days with Toni.
Best for: experienced Divemasters confident on PADI standards.
Recommended
PHP 109,500
IDC + Prep. Theory refresh and demonstration practice before the IDC starts proper.
Best for: most candidates. The standard package.
Master Plus
PHP 149,500
IDC + Prep + 5 PADI Specialty Instructor courses. MSDT-ready pathway.
Best for: those targeting Master Scuba Diver Trainer fast.
What’s included in IDC fees
IDC Recommended package (PHP 109,500) includes:
• 10 to 14 days of instructor training with Toni Plaza (Platinum Course Director)
• IDC knowledge development. PADI standards, physics, physiology, equipment
• Confined water demonstration practice
• Open water practicum with LTTs (Limited Teaching Tasks)
• Emergency First Response Instructor (EFRI). 1-day practical (academics online)
• PADI eLearning materials and resources
• Instructor Examination (IE) preparation and coaching
• Guided dives at Kimud Shoal and Lighthouse Reef during practicum days (thresher shark dives at Kimud typically scheduled for the AOWD workshop)
Other course fees
AI Course — PHP 60,000 — 3 to 4 days for cross-agency switchers
OWSI Standalone — PHP 50,000 — entry-level PADI teaching credential
EFRI Standalone — PHP 10,000 — 1 day if not bundled with IDC
Specialty Instructor — PHP 30,000 to 40,000 each — Wreck, Nitrox, Deep, Tec, Nav, etc.
Staff Instructor — PHP 50,000 — 4 days, OWSI prerequisite
Paid separately to PADI
PADI charges AUD 1,826 directly for the Instructor Examination, application fees, and your first year of professional membership. This is a flat PADI cost and does not vary by IDC location.
You also need to budget for accommodation, meals, and travel. Malapascua is small. Most candidates stay in nearby budget-to-mid-range guesthouses (PHP 800 to 2,500/night). Toni can recommend options.
